Duct cleaning removes built-up dust, debris and pet hair from inside your ducts, and it is most worthwhile when you see dust blowing from vents, after remodeling, or if pests have been in the ducts.
Duct sealing is different. It closes leaks at joints and seams so cooled air reaches your rooms instead of your attic. According to ENERGY STAR, a typical home loses about 20 to 30 percent of the air moving through its ducts to leaks, and in an Arizona attic that wasted air is expensive. Many homes benefit from both.
